Youth Arise is a non-profit, member-driven organisation founded in 2016. The governance is provided by a volunteer Board, and operations are led by the President and staff who are all of the LGBT/MSM community.
Here at Youth Arise Organisation, LGBT well-being is at the forefront of what we’re working towards. Our programs and activities are designed to be a catalyst that helps LGBT/MSM community members reach their goals and fulfil their potential.

ABOUT
Here at Youth Arise Organisation, we are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place for all, a world without discrimination against the LGBT community.
We are a Sierra Leonean based LGBT led organisation made up of individuals who support the full inclusion of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people (LGBTQ) in Sierra Leone.
Our work is overseen by a small group of volunteers who form the coordinating group, We also receive support from a variety of professionals who are Pro-LGBT who offer their help and support throughout the year. The Coordinating Group is elected at the AGM, which is usually held near the beginning of the year during our annual retreat.
We strive to build productive relationships among the LGBT Community in Sierra Leone and make a positive impact with all of our pursuits.

As the needs of our community evolve, we work to make sure that LGBT/MSM have the support, services and resources needed to enhance and maintain good quality of life. We strive to advocate for LGBT rights, empowerment for all in Sierra Leone

SUPPORT LGBT/MSM SEXUAL HEALTH
HIV & AIDS PREVENTION AND EDUCATION
Our centre has been a leader in providing comprehensive, community-based HIV and AIDS prevention and education. We work to test and promote earlier HIV diagnosis and access to care for LGBT/MSM, reduce risk behaviours and enhance protective factors associated with higher HIV risk. In addition, The Center helps HIV-positive LGBT people engage in HIV care to lower their viral load, improve their health and prevent transmission of the disease to others.
Our work includes:
Youth HIV prevention
On-site HIV testing
Prevention and supportive intervention
Transgender HIV prevention
Family planning to reduce the risk of HIV transmission for positive parents.

HIV & AIDS SUPPORT
The Center is committed to providing ongoing support for LGBT community who live with HIV and AIDS every day. We offer a continuous cycle of support groups to help people at varying stages of living with the disease cope with the multitude of emotional and health challenges HIV and AIDS present.
From one-on-one counselling, referrals for MSM, The Center is here to help.

EDUCATION
With our organisation’s mission always in mind, we strive to find new strategies for dealing with  challenges facing LGBT/MSM/TRANS in Sierra Leone. Education/Awareness and training activities are something that we take very seriously, and our volunteer team is working each and every day to make a positive impact.
